Nap Clark Memorial Library

 

Nap Clark was a man who poured himself into the study of God’s word for over 60 years. Nap spent many long hours reading through his Scofield Bible writing tiny notes in the margins with a rapidograph pen. During his 60 years of ministry Nap compiled a fairly substantial library of commentaries, study guides and audio tapes. He actually learned to listen to tapes on his reel to reel player at double speed so that he could listen and learn faster. It sounded like a fast talking chipmunk. No one but Nap could understand it. 

 

Nap & Dixie’s children, Susan and Stephanie have graciously given all of Nap’s books and tapes to Emmanuel Baptist Church to hopefully inspire the next generation of ‘Nap’s boys’ to dig into the word of God and discover the great truths that led Nap throughout his ministry.

Emmanuel Baptist Church has dedicated and refinished a large room that will house all of Nap’s books, tapes and memorabilia.  Even a replica of his reel to reel tape player with be available to listen to the tape library. The book shelves and furnishings will cost approximately $13,000. Half of this amount has been raised and the shelves and furnishings have been ordered.

Those of you who knew and loved Nap & Dixie now have an opportunity to help make The Nap Clark Memorial Library a reality. We need to come together and raise the balance of the money needed to complete the library before the conference. We will have an official dedication of the library at the Bible Conference July 31- August 2.  You can make your check payable to Emmanuel Baptist Church (4211 Old Hwy. 12, Starkville, MS 39759) with the word “library” on the check.

The library is equipped with a reel to reel tape player, a large flat screen TV, a computer with internet connection, and of course Nap’s books and memoribilia. Other books may be added at a later time.
